The Administrative Professionals Conference (APC) is an annual, full-day professional development event created for administrative professionals in healthcare, higher education, corporate settings, and other organizations throughout the region. Since 2005, the conference has brought professionals together to learn, connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate the important contributions they make in the workplace.
Our Story
The conference begain in 2005 as a collaborative effort to provide administrative professionals with an accessible, high-quality opportunity for learning and recognition close to home. What started as a local gathering has grown into a respected regional conference supported by a planning committee with representatives from leading healthcare and higher education organizations. Together, the committee members contribute their time, creativity, and expertise to develop a welcoming program that responds to the evolving responsibilities of administrative professionals.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to create a supportive environment where administrative professionals can stregthen their skills, learn from one another, and build meaningful professional relationships. Through engaging speakers, practical sessions, networking opportunites, and shared resources, the APC helps attendees grow in areas such as communication, leadership, workplace efficiency, technology, adaptability, and career development. The conference also recognizes the essential role administrative professionals play in the success of their teams and organizations.
Where We Have Gathered
Over the years, the conference has been hosted at several distinctive venues in the Winston-Salem area. We started with Wake Forest University's Bridger Field House as an early location. As attendance and the event continued to grow, the APC has also been held at WinMock at Kinderton in Bermuda Run, and Legacy Stables and Events in Winston-Salem. Each setting has helped create a memorable experience for attendees while supporting the conference's educational, networking, vendor, and community-engagement activities.
Giving Back to Our Community
Community service is an important part of the APC experience. Since 2012, the conference has supported the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina through an annual food drive that gives attendees and vendors an easy, voluntary way to help neighbors facing hunger. In the first year, participants donated 589 pounds of food; by the end of the 2026 conference, cumulative donations has reached 13,692 pounds. This ongoing effort reflects the generosity of the APC community and extends the spirit of the conference beyond professional development to meaningful service throughout our region.
Today, the APC continues to evolve while remaining grounded in its original committment: professionals supporting professionals. By brining people together across organizations and industries, the conference encourages collaboration, shares practical knowledge, builds community, and inspires administrative professionals to lead with confidence and excellence.
